Key issue.

Hi all,

I have had my explorer since November and all of a sudden the keyless entry stopped working but keyless locking still worked. The tailgate did open automatically but now it doesn’t work. The main key seemed to only unlock the car and when I got the spare out and tried it the keyless entry worked. I then tried the main key and keyless worked again. However hands free tailgate doesn’t work and hasn’t for a long time, anyone else had this issue?

I have the opposite problem with my tailgate starting opening on its own a few times when I unlock the car keyless. My car was manufactured in November and I still have a lot of errors that seem to be connected to the communication modules for both external and internal communication and software, which probably includes the internal communication between the various functions/sensors and which my dealer cannot fix. According to my dealer, they are waiting for an answer from Ford as to whether they have to replace all hardware modules and certain sensors (Big job) or simply trade the car in for a new one at Ford's expense. Since the Explorer is an almost 100% MEB platform from VW (ID3/4/5, etc.), many of the bugs in the Explorer can be read about in various ID.X forums. You might think that Ford/VW should have had time to fix these bugs since MEB has been around for several years. Otherwise, it is a nice car that I really like.
