Hi, as per my post on 10th April, you can just use the Ford RFID card. I assume that way you get the discount
Ionity RFID Billing questions
I've still not been charged for the first Ionity charge, so maybe the first one's free??
Just charged up at another Ionity and the payment notification came through very quickly. The unit cost was 45.6p per kWh, so great value. Don't forget to just use your Ford RFID card to get the discount.

Used the Ionity charger today for 1st time , just to try it out as we are doing a 600 ml round trip next week .
There were about 6 chargers at the Village Hotel so I just plugged it into the 1st one and soon realised it was a plug & charge machine so I didn’t have to use the blue oval card .
Unfortunately there was no way of stopping the charge so I rang the freephone help number on the machine and they stopped it remotely enabling me to remove the lead .
I saw that on the other newer charging pods there was the facility to present your card and stop the charge manually
.
My Ford account was immediately updated with charge fee of £16..36 which equates to 43p per kWh for 38 kWh and an email arrived shortly after from Ford showing details of charge .
Edit to the above I was waving my card at the machine after I plugged in but it was very sunny and struggled to see display but it must have recognised it to bill me .

Only had my car a couple for weeks - so only used the Ionity chargers
This is what I found - after activating my 1 year free BlueOval Charge Network access on the FordPass App, I visited a local Ionity charger.
I plugged the charging cable into the car, waited a minute or so and the car started charging - the charger recognised the car, no need to swipe anything.
Once I had added some charge (I didn't really need any charge, as this was just a test)
I just pressed the "Stop" charging button on the screen within the car. Unplugged and drove way - I was billing via the FordPass App a few minutes later and the payment came out of my bank account.
I was charged 43p per Kw - although the charger showed 74p (I think) during the charging session.
Other charges may vary on this process and price
Hope this helps
